Abstract
Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is a rare inflammatory demyelinating condition of central nervous system (CNS) that is thought to be an autoimmune mediated disorder. It is usually developed after a viral infection or vaccination or
without
recognized antecedent. Typical clinical presentation with monophasic course is multifocal neurologic abnormalities reflecting widespread CNS disturbance. MRI is diagnostic for ADEM due to its high sensitivity in detecting white matter change.
